April 22nd - Practice, it's been a long winter. Finally got the car finished just a few days prior. Car seemed to work ok. Had a slight push in the corner. Much better than last years car, but needs some help in set up dept. April 29th - Opening night at "The Can". Started 3rd in the 3rd heat, finished 2nd to Brian who else. Drew the 8th starting position. Was holding my own, running 7th-8th-9th, not quite handling as well as it did in practice. Had a slight miscalculation on lap 34, hit the front stretch wall. Finished a disappointing 20th. May 6th - Started 3rd in the 2nd heat based on results from last weeks 20th place finish. Finished 2nd to Mike Colsten. Car was not handling well, seemed loose. Made several changes for the feature. Started 3rd in the feature, lead several laps before being over taken by Mike Colsten. Ran 3rd & 4th for most of the feature; until lap 34, drifted high just a little coming out of turn 4; Huff, Terrell, and McGurren managed to get by, finished 7th. Slight changes for week 3 to be made. Currently 15th in points. May 13th - Must be Friday the 13th struck, started 4th in the 4th heat; got caught up in a jingle on the first lap, finished 5th with out any brakes. Started 20th in the feature, and things just didn't work out on the night overall. Finished 5 of the scheduled 30 laps, had a broken left rear hub. Credited with 22nd place finish. May 20th - Had a good run in the heat started 4th finished 2nd. Based on handicapping procedures at the track started 5th in the 30 lap feature. Ran a solid race, finished 5th. Nothing gained nothing lost I guess describes the night as a whole. Moved up to 11th in points. May 27th - Finished 10th in the 30 lap feature. Jun 3rd - What a night is the best way to describe it. Threatening skys all night long. Started 3rd in the 3rd heat, finished 3rd. During the Late Model race the rains started to fall. Started 7th in the 30 lap feature go. Mayhem is the best way to describe this show. Got caught up in a tangle early, went to the rear. The rains persisted to get more intense as the race wore on, and officials decided that everything was just fine, UNTIL lap 11 wreck which involved all of the "so called heavy hitters". The race was called off to start on lap 11 on June 10th. Before we left the track for the night the line up was posted and we were scheduled to start 4th. Jun 10th - Once again stormy skys met us at the track and in the pits! Low and behold we were told that the 4th place start was some sort of political joke on us or something. Were forced to start the race in 14th, finished a disappointing 11th, due to being wrecked once again by the same person from Jun 3rd race. Owner did voice his displeasure with position that we were told to start, but once again the little guy looses and the big fish win out! Car is working much better even when it is disabled. Needed LR spindle, LR drive axel, and 2 LR tires. Next 2 weeks double headers for the team, Penn Can on Friday and Five Mile on Saturday, leading up to the "Heath Memorial". Thanks for all of your support on the guest book. September 9th. Well the year ended sooner than we expected. Had a bad wreck in the main, and destroyed the car. Finally it was working great! I can atleast say that much. When they say that's racing, I guess the meaning doesn't sink in untill something like this happens. Would like to thank the FANS, SPONSORS, and CREW members from other cars that CALLED to see how Bub was. Well that's it for the 2005 season, thank you all that support us, see you in 2006.
We will post the 2006 season as soon as we know what we will be doing, as far as a chassis and motor. |
